Vice President of Partnerships
Help colleges increase enrollment through transfer credit transparency. We are looking for a Sales Executive who wants to sell something that matters, to people who care, at a company that is growing fast enough to make your work visible.
Students lose credits they already earned
Every year, hundreds of thousands of students transfer between colleges and lose credits they’ve already earned. Institutions lose those students to slow evaluations, opaque pathways, and answers that arrive weeks too late. DegreeSight fixes that. Our platform gives institutions the ability to tell a transfer student, on the day they inquire, exactly how their credits apply and how quickly they can graduate. That single answer changes yield, retention, and the trajectory of a student’s life.
Built by enrollment and registrar veterans
DegreeSight is a higher-education SaaS company built by enrollment and registrar veterans. Our two products, Inbound+ (automated transfer credit evaluation and transfer recruitment) and Insight+ (degree pathways, program analytics, and degree-audit integration), plug into the systems campuses already run: Banner, Colleague, Slate, Salesforce, DegreeWorks, and more.
We work with private nonprofit colleges, public universities, community colleges, and multi-institution systems, and the last year has been our strongest yet: record first-half bookings, multi-year contracts, and a growing roster of clients who renew and expand. We are SOC 2 certified, founder-led, and small enough that every closed deal is celebrated by name.
A territory of institutions, end to end
You will own a territory of institutions from first conversation through signature. This is a full-cycle, consultative sale to enrollment leaders, registrars, provosts, and presidents, people who are measured on the same outcomes DegreeSight improves.
Deal cycles run three to nine months, contract values are meaningful, and the buyer expects a peer, not a pitch.
You’ll report directly to our Co-Founder and Chief Revenue Officer and work shoulder-to-shoulder with the CEO, COO, and Partner Success team. There is no layer between you and the people who built the product.
The shape of the work
From the first conference conversation to the handoff after signature.
Pipeline and discovery
- Build and run a pipeline of qualified institutions across your territory, from targeted outbound and conference conversations to inbound demand and RFP responses.
- Lead discovery that uncovers how an institution actually handles transfer today, where it loses students, and what a fix is worth to them.
Demos and proposals
- Deliver demos and campus presentations that connect our platform to a specific institution’s data, systems, and strategic plan.
- Build proposals, pricing, and ROI cases that stand up in front of a cabinet and a procurement office.
Committees and procurement
- Navigate multi-stakeholder buying committees, security reviews, and public-sector procurement with patience and precision.
- Keep HubSpot accurate and forecast honestly, so the team can plan around what’s real.
Handoff and field intelligence
- Hand off cleanly to Partner Success so the promises you make become outcomes the client sees.
- Bring what you learn on the road back to product, marketing, and leadership. Your field intelligence shapes our roadmap.
How we outwork better-funded vendors
DegreeSight is an AI-enabled company, and this is an AI-enabled role. Our sales team uses AI every day to research institutions, prep for discovery, personalize outreach, build proposals, analyze pipeline, and turn a demo transcript into a follow-up plan before the next meeting starts. It is how we compete with larger, better-funded vendors and still outwork them.
We want someone who already works this way, or is eager to start. You’ll be expected to continually increase your AI acumen: experiment with new tools and workflows, share what works, and treat “how could AI make this better?” as a standing question in your week. We invest in the tools and the time to learn them.
The shape of the candidate
A peer to the people you sell to. Here’s what actually matters.
- You have 3+ years of quota-carrying sales experience, ideally selling to higher education, or you come from enrollment management, admissions, or the registrar’s office and want to sell what you used to buy. B2B SaaS experience is a plus.
- You are a natural consultant. You ask better questions than the last vendor did, and you listen to the answers.
- You understand, or are excited to learn, how a campus really works: academic calendars, shared governance, procurement cycles, and why a registrar’s opinion matters as much as a VP’s.
- You write well. Much of this sale happens in email and in documents that get forwarded to people you’ll never meet.
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and ownership. At a company this size, you’ll be handed problems, not playbooks, and you’ll build the playbook.
- You are proud of your forecast accuracy, not just your closed-won number.
- You can travel to campuses and conferences roughly 20 to 30 percent of the time.
Sell something that matters
Mission you can explain to your family. We help students graduate on time and help colleges keep the students they worked hard to recruit.
Product-market fit that’s already proven. You’ll sell a platform with reference clients, case studies, and a University Advisory Board of enrollment leaders who believe in it.
Access. You’ll work directly with the founders, and your ideas will move things within days, not quarters.
Compounding territory. Higher ed is a referral-driven market with long client lifetimes. The relationships you build in year one pay off for years.
Modern tools, real investment. A stack built for how sales works now, and a company that expects you to keep sharpening it.
Fully remote, with real flexibility. Work from anywhere in the US, with a travel schedule you help shape.
Apply for this role
Send a short note to careers@degreesight.com telling us about a complex deal you’re proud of, one thing you’d change about how most vendors sell to colleges, and the AI tool or workflow that has most changed how you work. A résumé is welcome, but the note is what we’ll read first.
DegreeSight is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome candidates from every background and are committed to building a team that reflects the institutions and students we serve.
